Let’s Hit the Road: Travel Blog for Adventure & Weekend Trips
💡 I live near Houston’s IAH airport, and every time a plane flies overhead, I catch myself wondering, ‘Where ya going?’ Maybe I’ve always been wired this way—itching to travel and explore new places.
🌟 One of my earliest memories is from kindergarten, watching my teacher run outside, waving her arms at a passing helicopter, shouting, ‘Take me with you!’ At the time, I thought it was hilarious. Looking back, I think I get it now. The urge to just go on an adventure—to explore, to discover hidden gems, to experience new places like a local—has been in my blood for as long as I can remember.
🌎 I don’t travel like a tourist—I like to travel like I live there. I plan the big things: how I’m getting there, where I’m staying, and maybe a few must-see spots. But beyond that? I leave my itinerary open. Some of the best travel experiences come from chatting with locals, stumbling upon hidden spots, or just slowing down and taking it all in. That’s what Miles & Memories is about—travel inspiration, road trip planning, and weekend getaways without the pressure of a checklist.
📝 For the last decade, I’ve been buried in resume writing—helping people land jobs and chase career success. But here’s the thing: success shouldn’t mean getting stuck in the same routine forever. I wanted to start writing about something fun, something that gets people excited to step outside their comfort zones and start traveling more. Just the other day, I was at my eye doctor’s office, and the receptionist mentioned how she wishes she could go on a cruise. I told her, ‘You totally can. Travel is more accessible than people think—it’s just about knowing how to plan and budget for it.’ That’s what I want to share here—real-world travel tips, adventure stories, and budget-friendly travel ideas to help more people hit the road.
🛤️ So, if you’ve ever watched a plane take off and wished you were on it, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, a road trip, or an adventure travel experience, Miles & Memories is here to inspire and guide you. First stop? The fridge, where I’ll be rearranging my growing collection of travel souvenirs (mostly magnets).
📍 Next stop? Wherever the road takes us. 📍
